Study Deposits & Refunds

On accepting our offer of a place on any CTH programme a study deposit of £2000.00 is required before we can send you a letter for Visa purposes.  This will be deducted from your total fee.  The remainder of the fee is payable on arrival and prior to the start of your programme.

If you send a personal cheque for this amount it will have to clear before we are able to send out your letter.  Please allow two weeks for the cheque to clear.

Bloomsbury Business School will accept payments by Credit or Debit card over the telephone.  This is a more effective way of allowing us to get the letter to you for visa purposes.

Your study deposit should be paid to the Financial Services Department at the school.  All payments must be made in British Pounds (GBP).

Cash, cheques and bank drafts will also be accepted.  All cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to Bloomsbury Business School and can be posted to the Financial Services Department at the address below.  Please do not forget to write your name, address and student reference number on the back.

Refund Policy

In response to requests from the visa sections in many countries, BBS requires students to pay a study deposit once they have received an offer of a place on one of the programmes offered at the school.  On receipt of the study deposit BBS will issue you with a CAS number to enable you to apply for your entry clearance to study in the UK.

  • A refund will not be made to any student refused a visa due to the submission of fraudulent documents or a fraudulent application to the relevant authorities when applying for entry clearance to study in the UK
  • A refund will not be made to any student who is granted a visa, travels to the UK and then chooses not to study at BBS
  • A refund will not be made to any student who is refused entry at their point of entry into the UK
  • BBS will not transfer monies to other universities/institutions if, on arrival in the UK, the student decides to enrol at another university/institution other than at BBS
  • Students who defer their entry and have not applied for entry clearance, will be permitted to transfer their deposit payment to the next available intake
  • Students are only allowed to defer once only.  If a student fails to enrol on a deferral admission, the study deposit will be retained by BBS and a refund will not be given under any circumstances
  • If an applicant is issued a CAS and then chooses not to apply for entry clearance, documentary evidence will be required as to the reason why the application was not made.  If BBS is satisfied as to the reason for not applying for entry clearance a refund will be made

The above list is not exhaustive

  • Study deposits will be refunded in British Pounds (GBP) to the person who originally made the payment and in the same manner as the payment was received by BBS
  • BBS will endeavour to transfer any refund in the most cost effective way, but will not be liable for any bank charges involved in the refund
  • BBS reserves the right to inform the relevant authorities where there is evidence that a student has paid a study deposit, travelled to the UK but has not enrolled on a course of study at BBS
  • Refunds may take up to 8 weeks to process and an administrative charge of £100 will be deducted from the study deposit made to BBS

BBS require the following before a refund will be processed:

  • The refusal notice in the case of a visa being denied
  • A written request from the student which must be signed and dated
  • All documentation sent to the student by BBS
  • In the case that a CAS is issued and the applicant chooses not to apply for a visa the reason and proof must be forwarded to BBS

All documents required to obtain a refund must be originals and must be sent by post to BBS.  We will not accept scanned and emailed copies of documents for the purpose of obtaining a refund.
